EGM 24. 07.08 : The main reason for the meeting is well known to most members. However, in order to make the necessary changes to the fees structure the constitution needs changing in order to enable changes to be made at any general meeting of the club, otherwise they would only be made at the AGM and could not be implemented retrospectively. A minor change to the constitution is therefore proposed.

Motion 1.
In the constitution, Clause 5 Subscriptions, currently reads: "Membership shall be on payment of a subscription fee. The amount of these fees, classes of membership and the method of payment shall be decided at the Annual General Meeting. ..…."
It is proposed that, in the second sentence, the words "the Annual" be removed and be replaced by the word "a".
New wording: "Membership shall be on payment of a subscription fee. The amount of these fees, classes of membership and the method of payment shall be decided at a General Meeting. ..…."
Motion 2.
a) That with effect from 1st September 2008 membership there will be two classes of membership, Full and Concessionary.
Entitlement to pay at the concessionary rate shall be granted to the following categories of member:
Anyone in FULL TIME education,
Anyone who is unemployed,
Anyone who is over the age of 60 years,
All members of any family group of members comprising at least one adult and at least one person in full time education.
b) That with effect from 1st September 2008 membership will be on payment of an annual subscription at the rates detailed below, this payment to fall due each 1st September of the relevant year. The payment method shall be either by
a lump sum or
by payment of 12 equal monthly instalments BY STANDING ORDER into the club bank account.
Those in still arrears on 1st October of the relevant year shall be liable to pay at the visitor's rate detailed below for any sessions attended during September and shall continue to pay at that rate until they have paid their annual subscription. No refund will be made for those sessions that are paid at visitor's rate. Should anyone cancel a standing order, he/she shall pay at visitor's rate for any sessions attended until such time as any arrears are paid off.
Subscription rates:
Annual fee
Full rate: £240.00 per annum (or 12 monthly payments of £20.00)
Concessionary rate: £168.00 per annum (or 12 monthly payments of £14.00)
Visitors fee
Full rate: £ 8.00 per session
Concessionary rate: £ 6.00 per session
